Mayor
Sean Elwell
Sean has been a lifelong resident of Elsinboro. Sean has served the residents of Elsinboro Township for the past 15 years, spending 4 years as Deputy Mayor and most recently, 11 years as Mayor. Sean graduated from Salem High School as the National Honor Society President, graduated from Cumberland County College with an A.A.S. in Nursing, and earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Drexel University. Sean continued his education, and graduated with his Master's degree from Drexel University in Leadership in Health Systems Management, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He is a Registered Nurse, currently employed as the Director of Emergency Services, the Critical Care Transport Team, and the Trauma Center at Nemours Children’s Health, in Delaware. Sean has earned several honors and promotions, including being named Employee of the Year.
Sean has been an active member of the community as a member of the Elsinboro Fire Company for over 20 years, where he’s held the positions of Vice-President, Captain, Deputy Chief, and currently serves as the Fire Chief. Sean is a certified firefighter, EMT, fire officer, and rescue scuba diver. He also serves on many other committees, including representing Salem County on the Executive Board of the New Jersey League of Municipalities and the New Jersey Conference of Mayors.
Sean oversees all township appointed committees and is currently the Chair of the Administration Committee, Chair of the Community Development Committee, Chair of the Board of Health, Clean Communities Coordinator, and TOLACEM representative.


Deputy Mayor
Joseph McAllister

Joe is a lifelong Salem County resident. He has resided in Elsinboro Township since 2013 and previously lived in the township from 1991 until 1996.
He has been married to Coni Mulhorn- McAllister for 27 years and has three children; Jordan, Joseph and Jacqueline.
Joe has been employed by the New Jersey Department of Corrections since 1998. In the past, he has worked for the Lower Alloway Creek Police Department and his family’s business, the Salem Oak Diner.
Joe attended Saint James High School graduating in 1985 and went on to graduate from Salem Community College in 1987.
Joe is a member of the Sharptown United Methodist Church, the Salem Exchange Club and the Salem Boating Club.
